Selecting the right Treatment Plan

Have you got the right treatment plan for your scenario? Remember, it’s all about the lymph nodes!

Lower Body

Any surgery, trauma, burns, radiation or infection can cause damage to lymph nodes in the abdomen and/or lower extremities increasing your risk of lymphoedema.

The treatment for the lower body is first completed on one side of the body followed by treatment on the other side of the body. We are not crossing over the midline of the body, therefore this treatment is suitable for those whose lymph nodes are not fully functioning on either one or both sides.

This is very different to the upper body:  self lymphatic massage for upper extremity/mastectomy/bilateral mastectomy.

Upper Body

Generally, the direction of lymphatic massage is similar for both mastectomy (including lumpectomy) and bilateral mastectomy where lymph nodes have been removed from only one side (LNR1side).

Where lymph nodes have been removed from both sides (LNR2 sides) the
direction of lymphatic massage is vastly different. So it is important that you use the correct treatment plan that describes your lymph node situation.

Should you have purchased the incorrect treatment plan please contact us and we can ensure you get the correct treatment guide and video for your situation.
